trash bag book & other drawings

After much exceptional academic research for Japanese book binding techniques on You Tube, and many weekends lolligagging about in North Beach, I finally got my needle threaded and pencils on the paper, which is made from recycled grocery bags. I like using them for trash cans. I also like to carouse the cheese and trail mix aisles at Trader Joe's...

Aside from my lack of skills in scanning technology and the computer's ability to fade pictures, (perhaps because of the aforementioned?) I am still pretty pumped on coloring. On left, a life vest, 3.31, and one of my students, Jackson, (future premier artist who couldn't fall asleep during naptime,) on right, today.

At midnight yesterday, I woke my sister up with a phone call. I lied and told her I was pregnant. There was a long pause. Then I confessed. And then she told me she hated me. Then we laughed and she went back to bed. Happy April Fool's Chrissy. I love ya.

Also, earlier this week, I was invited to partake in a monthly event at a local gallery, 111 Minna for Sketch Tuesdays. If you live in the Bay Area, you should sign up to be featured and have yourself a good ol' time. Plus, it's free! and there's booze...I sold a few drawings, ran into some old pals and shared a drink. What could be cooler after taking care of loud-mouthed 4-year olds all day? Nothing. Here's a few leftover drawings I made that night.

I finished with a somewhat wonky-faced version of my boyfriend, who is pretty much an addict for a Breath-Right Nasal Strip...winter, spring, summer or fall.
