Ridgecrest Boulevard
I took my first ride across the Golden Gate Bridge today. It was overcast and chilly but I was going 65 through the rainbow tunnel so I didn't care. My bike ain't new and kinda like an old man, it has it's limits but I thought it held up pretty good, running up and down the mountains and twisty, hair-pin curves along the Shoreline & Panoramic Highways. Shifting mostly between second and third I made my way up to the tippy top, along Pan Toll Road to Ridgecrest Boulevard just before Alpine Lake where Rok and I took a hike yesterday. You make it far above the clouds..not enough to see the sun but enough to feel like you own something up there. I had to collect some realia for an art lesson I'm teaching this week on landscape painting and after I gathered some pine cones, bark and moss I took it in. I felt big and small at the same time. Bugs slappin against my visor, keepin focused on the pavement for potholes, gassin the dips, (ew gross) was a keeper.
I love this absolutely. I was surprised today to find that my bike, after sitting all winter, started right up. Ezmerelda is such a trooper. I can't wait for us to ride together. Great photos. Great adventure. Keep this stuff coming!
