Out and About Art Times

So much for this sketch-a-day business. However, I have been busy spending time with art. Ridiculously amazing art and art so bad it made me cry a little on the inside. Last week, Nick and I volunteered at the Annual SFMOMA Artists's Gallery Warehouse Sale at Ft. Mason.
Like Nick, most volunteers were previously featured artists, acting as sellers, hangers and runners, like us! The sale is set up in a salon fashion, where it's reduced 50% and it flies off the wall.

I was shocked to find the par so low, but there were some interesting pieces scattered about like this one.
...and although somewhat creepy, this one.
And as you make your way back from dropping art at the pick-up room, this is your view. CLick to enlarge and you will see the thin horizontal line that makes the San Francisco Bay hiding in the background.
Meanwhile, back inside...
...there was more artwork replacing sold items taken off the walls. This guy is cute.
There was quite a variety...
...(inner tears welling up)...
...(spilling over)...
...(and, well, it speaks for itself.)
I think this is the best piece of art I saw all evening.
Waiting for cake, two of my little lady students, Ava and Sanvi also think they're pretty good at art. They totally called each other and planned their outfits.
Went to the Dolby Chadwick Gallery the next evening, to see Nick's friend's artwork, Kim Froshin, and discovered marvelous painter, Douglas Schneider.

Then I stayed up til 4am continuing to work on my drawings for this weekend's show at Revamp.
And so, a cute little corner. Will post better views soon.
And I finally picked up these ladies, Bev, Maggie, Ethel and Cheryl. If you go back a few posts, you'll see their golfing counterparts, my R(ing)IP boyfriends, and try to match them up. I like to pretend it this way: Hank + Cheryl, Joel + Bev, Roger + Ethel and Doyle + Maggie. Anybody differ?
